A BIG WELCOME TO THE WAKEFIELD WILDCATS NETBALL CLUB WEBSITE

I have been involved with netball for 40 years as a player, umpire and as a coach. As one of the founder members of the club in 2006 our intentions from the beginning were to create and develop a club that was fully committed to promoting appropriate behaviour in competition and in the training environment, both on court and courtside.

We believe this promotes players of all abilities to reach their full potential and for some they can develop other skills in officiating and coaching. Currently Wakefield Wildcats Netball has around 120 members, ranging from U9 to Seniors who play in the West Yorkshire County Senior and Junior Leagues. We have several umpires and coaches all representing and supporting our Club at various levels.

In 2019 we were awarded with the England Netball GOLD CAPS accreditation, so we operate with a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards.

Our aim is to respect the rights of every individual with openness, honesty, mutual trust, respect, and value.

Wildcats training sessions are safe, challenging and athlete centred in an atmosphere that is fair, equitable and fun. We offer an opportunity for appropriate competition which recognises fair play and respects officials and their decisions. Our coaching offers a holistic approach and aims to provide appropriate support in all areas of the athletes’ life including educational, social, emotional and life issues.

Please click on the Club Info tab and Club Policies where you will find the Club Handbook which is a guide to help you make an informed choice regarding the expectations of our club and the suitability of Wildcats for yourself or your daughter. Initial enquiries can be made by completing a “Contact Us” form which is found on the top right of the toolbar, this links directly to me as Club Chair/Head Coach.

Here’s to a successful 2021/22 season!
